I am Associate Professor of Communication and French at Ghent University (Belgium). My primary research centers on image-based communication, particularly in the context of political communication, extremism, feminism, and citizenship on social media, as well as the emergence of AI-generated visuals. I'm also interested in the representation of languages and cultures in news media. Before 2016, I conducted research on performing arts.

My research methods include (multimodal) discourse analysis, quantitative content analysis, and semiotics.
