I am Associate Professor of Communication and French at Ghent University (Belgium). My primary research focuses on media and political communication, extremism, and citizenship on social media, with a particular emphasis on image-based communication. I'm also interested in the representation of languages and cultures in news media. Before 2016, I conducted research on performing arts.

My research methods include (multimodal) discourse analysis, quantitative content analysis, and semiotics.
